How To Keep Safe From Covid-19: #8 Old People
Hi, and welcome back, I'm Dr.Tigger.
Last lesson, we talked about the safety of children, but today, we’ll direct our attention at old people, and when I say “old”, I don't mean people who are a hundred and fifty (150) years old, but those who are over 65.
Why talk about them? Because according to ncov2019.live/calculator, people older than 80 have a more than 5% of dying if infected with Covid, that is, without any serious health problems or diseases.
Why they are at higher risk? Some say old people aren't very careful, though more studies suggest that they have weak immune systems, the most likely might be that they don't like wearing face masks.
That's because most old people have some health problems, like trouble breathing, so naturally, they’ll refuse face masks.
Someone who is older than 60 and has either hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes, or cancer, has an estimated 92% chance of dying from Covid-19.
So don't trust your luck, elderly, just trust the experts’ advice, like putting on masks, and you'll be safe!
