“Splashdown” In The Gulf Of Mexico!

Hit the lights, it's the New News Newshour, starting now!

At 2:48 P.M., EDT, the SpaceX mission, Demo-2, splashed down off the Pensacola, Florida coast in the Gulf Of Mexico, completing the “test mission”, sending two astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, into space and back in a commercially-built spacecraft.

It will also be the first water-landing in almost 45 years, since the last mission in 1975.

SpaceX hopes to tell people that the new Crew Dragon is trustable, and they might have accomplished that dream, too.

The method Demo-2 used was kind of “old-fashioned”, which used parachutes as a “speedbump”, and touched down gently on the water.

I hope you, I mean “you”, can someday fly into space, in the Crew Dragon.

For this Newshour, I'm Tigger.
