Buying TikTok: ByteDance Prepares To Sell The Famous App

Hi, this is the New News Newshour.

Threatening to ban TikTok, the famous video-sharing app owned by ByteDance, Trump supports Microsoft on buying the American TikTok, of concerns that the Chinese company might be sharing info with the Chinese government.

In my opinion, if Microsoft really wants to buy the American version of the app, then all I have to say is “go ahead!”, but one thing: “First get ByteDance’s agreement on this idea”.

Or maybe not, because after Trump’s threat, ByteDance promised to sell TikTok.

Anyway, that's the story behind selling TikTok, and another reason Microsoft wanted it: Everyone liked it so much, that no one used other video sharing apps!
