What's In The Box?
Can you guess what's in this box? It is a heart-shaped badge for military honor, and it was ordered by a famous “George.”
You’re right, it's the Badge of Military Merit, ordered by General George Washington, to honor those who served bravely in the U.S. Army, even the dead are given it, sometimes, which is a bummer, because if you're already dead, then it's like giving something to a ghost, who can't hold it.
Anyway, Washington established this badge to be made on August 7th, or today, though it was 238 years ago, so this date was made “Purple Heart Day”, because apparently, this badge was purple, with George in the middle, and a bronze lining. And did I mention that it was designed by Ms.Elizabeth Will? And that this day was founded by the Military Order of the Purple Heart? Well, now you know what's inside this box, then it's time for me to go! Bye!
