Hi there, and welcome to this new show, U.S. Politics, sponsored by the New News Newshour, that will tell you everything that's going on with the 2020 election and how the U.S. government works.

So, with all that's going on with the battle between Donald J. Trump and Joe Biden on the presidency of the United States, you might already know that they’re from 2 different parties, Republican and Democratic, which have been battling for the presidency for 167 years. Actually, they, along with some other parties, battled for it in the beginning, but as things changed, the others, Whig and Federalist, disappeared for one reason or another, and the remaining party, Democrat-Republican, split into the two we know today, Republican and Democratic.

Ever since, the parties have sent representatives every 4 years to represent the two parties and battle for the White House.

In my opinion, these parties should likely battle again and again, and help America, and the world, get better and better in ways they think could make our world better.
