Ahoy Matey!

Ahoy there, matey! Any seadog worth their salt should know how to talk like a pirate! If ye agree, say “arr”!

All hands on deck! Today is “International Talk Like A Pirate Day”, which means ye gotta learn how to talk like a pirate!

This holiday, created by John Baur and Mark Summers, encourages ya to talk like me!

Here, we don't say “I”, or “your”, “you”, eta, we change them to “me”, and “ye” or “ya”, remember that, and you are basically a pirate! Now do you understand pirate talk? And phrases like “all hands on deck”, “arr”, and “ahoy matey”, mean “everyone on deck”, “OK”, and “hi friends”.

Me think if ya use these phrases and new “pirate-y” words, then ye can be a good pirate! Isn't being a pirate fun? Remember, say “arr”!
