U.S. Politics: #8 The Bill Of Rights 1
Hi, and welcome to the 8th edition of the U.S. Politics show! Today, we’ll be talking about the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution, better known as the Bill of Rights.
These 10 amendments were issued together, unlike normal amendments, which are issued one at a time. The Bill of Rights is a list of rights that the people are allowed to have, and they include:
1. Freedom of Speech, Religion, and the Press, meaning you have the right to say and write your opinions freely, and also worship freely
2. The Right to Bear Arms gives you the right to use weapons in defense of you and your property
3. The Housing of Soldiers right gives you the choice of whether you would like to take in soldiers in times of peace. If you don't agree with letting them stay, you can turn them down
4. Protection from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures doesn't let police searches into your house, unless with a warrant, and police aren't allowed to freely take your personal stuff, either
So far, these amendments give you the power to do things freely, and I'll be back next time to continue!
