Ωκεανό Októpus

October 8, 2020173 words1 min read

“Ωκεανό Októpus” means ocean octopus in Greek, though of course, octopuses often live in the ocean.

These amazing and mysterious ocean creatures have 8 tentacles, and here’s some advice when you go diving: Avoid them. They seem harmless, 8 long arms with sticky pads. But when they tangle you, you'll be stuck on, until it eats or drowns you.

Besides those dangerous tentacles, octopuses are actually pretty smart.

Each tentacle has neurons that allow them to do different things at the same time. And today is World Octopus Day, so if you like these cephalopods, then here are some more facts about them. There are 300 species, which come in all colors, sizes, and shapes. Their mouth is in the center of the 8 tentacles. And don't confuse them with squids. Squids are long and have 8 arms, 2 large tentacles.

Oh, how I wish I could be one! I could do different things at once! Alas, no such luck. But ευτυχισμένη ημέρα χταπόδι (happy Octopus Day ) to you too!
