M&M Day Is Today!
Let's eat M&M candy today, because it's national M&M day, a day just for eating the brand M&M’s.
The brand M&M’s was first thought of by Forrest Mars, Sr., in the 1930s during the Spanish Civil War, when he saw soldiers eating chocolate pellets with hard shells on the outside to prevent them from melting.
Now we know these delicious pieces of candy as multicolored milk chocolate with the lowercase “m” written in white on the shells. But don't worry, these pellets are actually quite sweet and very much edible.
So Oct 13’s, or today’s, National M&M Day, also known as M&M's day, is very worth celebrating by eating some of the candy.
Did you know that every colored candy has its own equivalent cartoon character? They look very funny if you ask me because they range in size from a little red one to an elongated yellow one. Then there's the same white “m” where the belly should be, which looks like their slogan.
