It's United Nations Day!
Surprise surprise, it's UN Day! This day is almost as old as the UN itself, dating back to 1948. It was passed by the UN General Assembly in 1947, and to be celebrated annually on Oct 24th.
The UN, as the name suggests, is an international organization made up of 195 countries, together making what is known as the United Nations. The UN was created in 1945 to obtain international peace between countries. Lots of international holidays, laws, etc, are passed by the UN General Assembly, where delegates represent their countries’ vote, opinion, and idea. The Assembly meets annually in regular session from September ‘till December then resumes in January until all issues on the agenda are discussed. And don't forget, their official languages are: Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian, French, and Spanish.
A bit complicated, yes, but maybe it might be worth it to obtain world peace, protect human rights, and protect the world. Because honestly, we don't want world nuclear war breaking out.
