Amy Coney Barrett Confirmed To SCOTUS
October 27, 2020 — 133 words — 1 min read
Just a week ahead of election day, the seat of former Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has been filled by Republican nominee Amy Coney Barrett, who will begin serving on the Supreme Court on Oct 27, 2020.
The vote passed in the Senate with 52-48. Only GOP Sen. Susan Collins of Maine of all Republicans voted against Trump’s nominee, which wouldn't have mattered at all since the Republican party had a hold on the Senate.
“I think the Democrats are doomed for the next decade or two since a justice appointed for life or until they retire, and now the Republicans have 6 of the 9 justices supporting them,” said Tigger in an interview after the approval.
Do you think Barrett’s rise to the SCOTUS is good news? We’ll have to wait and see.
