Breaking News: Joe Biden Elected President (At Least For Now)
The Newshour is back with breaking news on the 2020 presidential election, Democrat and former vice president Joe Biden has been elected president of the U.S., according to the AP, but that might not last for long.
With the electoral college in place, a candidate must have at least 270 or more electoral votes to win the presidency, which Biden has done, counting 290 electoral votes. But with him only at 214 and a strange flip of states from red to blue, Trump is willing to go to court and demand a recount. He has filed lots of lawsuits before, only to be mostly ignored, though the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin have already started to recount.
“I think Biden's win is a historical moment, he'll become the oldest president, and Harris the 1st Black VP. It also means more jobs that are environment-friendly, which is good. The bad news is that it might not last long. We’ll have to wait and see,” Tiger says. He hopes you can be patient.
