The Newshour is here with breaking news on the 2020 Congressional election.

For the past few days, we have been mainly focused on the 2020 presidential election, though the Senate is also holding elections this year. There's news that Democrat José Javier Rodríguez lost his seat to Republican Ileana Garcia by not a thousand, but 34, yes, 34 votes. Shocking, right?

“This is very surprising if you ask me, usually there's a gigantic gap between the votes for two candidates, and since it's in a district in the big state of Florida, there’ll at least be a few thousand votes in difference. To me, it's like the final 100m of a long run race, there's only that little difference between the two leading athletes, and yet, that little difference could determine the winner of that race.” That's the opinion of New News editor Tigger.

With a Senate split into 48 Dems and 50 Reps, it's up to 2 Georgia runoffs to determine the control of the Senate. If those were won by Democrats, and then a 50-50 could be broken by vice president Kamala Harris. If they were won by Republicans, the things wouldn’t look good for the Democrats.
