I’m Coming Today!

Hello, I’m Krampus, a friend of Saint Nicholas, and the guy who punishes naughty children. And today, I’m coming to your home.

On the eve of Saint Nicholas Day, I, Krampus, and Nicholas together set out to reward and punish children, depending on how they have behaved. Old Nicholas is usually the one who rewards the nice children with the candy and stuff, while I single out and punish those who haven’t and hit them with my whip. For those very bad ones, I’ll put in my sack to deal with later.

That is also mainly why today, Dec 5th, is Krampus Night. It dates back centuries to Europe, where it was popular in Germany. They depicted me as “half-goat”, “half-demon”.

Over the years, people have been dressing up like me and scaring kids on the streets. Still, I like to go out every so often... Anyway, if you wanna get rewarded by Nicholas instead of being punished by me, then don’t be lazy, and finish your homework.
