Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Is Today

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was really a tragic incident. It killed 2,403 citizens of the United States and wounded a thousand more others. And that is what Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is for, to remember the people who have lost their lives in that incident.

This day was founded by the United States Congress on October 3rd, 1984, and observed annually on Dec 7th, or today, the same day of the Pearl Harbor attack.

“I think a way to honor those who’ve died in the attack is to understand it,” says Tigger. “The attack happened on today’s date in 1941, when the Japanese decided to invade Naval Station Pearl Harbor, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This was in an attempt to destroy the American Pacific Fleet so that Japan can take over Southeast Asia, which has many raw resources. That didn’t only fail, it also got the U.S. involved in World War 2, and the atomic bombing of Japan’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I think it’s better to stay out of someone else’s business because it can sometimes have very bad consequences for both sides.”
