The New News Newsminute is here with some surprisingly exciting news about Covid-19, which is that 90-year-old Margaret Keenan has become the first person in the world to receive a clinically approved Covid-19 vaccine.

The UK grandmother got a shot of Pfizer’s Covid-19 Vaccine, which, according to newer data, was about 95% effective. The vaccine was clinically tested and proven, and now around 70 hospitals across the UK have begun distributing the vaccine, on what’s being called “V-Day”, or “Vaccination-Day” by officials.

“Pfizer’s vaccine–unlike many other vaccines developed to treat Covid–is a kind of vaccine that relies on messenger RNA to start the process of making virus-busting antibodies. Basically, messenger RNA is like an instruction manual for our cells,” said Dr.Tigger yesterday. “I think that if the UK has already approved the emergency use of a highly effective vaccine, then hopefully, it’s not far until we make it usable worldwide.”

He, along with other doctors, is encouraging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to approve a vaccine like Pfizer’s.
