Gingerbread House Day Is Today!
Do you like to build houses? Do you like to eat those houses after you build them? Nah, this isn’t any fictional movie or anything, what I’m talking about are gingerbread houses!
As you’ve probably guessed, these so-called “gingerbread houses” are usually entirely made of candy and gingerbread, so they are very much edible!
Actually, they have a longer history than you probably think. They can be dated back as early as the sixteenth century, when they started being built in Germany. But it was thanks to the publishing of Brother Grimm’s “Hansel and Gretel” in 1812, which featured the edible house, did it become more popular.
“Because they’re very popular as Christmas decorations nowadays, it’s not that surprising that Gingerbread House Day is celebrated annually today,” says Tigger. “I think that they are both fun to build and eat! My, all this talk about food is making me very hungry, so I might as well be off!” He hopes that you can build a yummy gingerbread house today.
