Who Gets It First?

December 16, 2020153 words1 min read

With the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine already approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Moderna’s vaccine expected to be approved later this week, there is a big question that we face in distributing them: Who gets it first?

Some people believe that the vaccines should be first given to frontline health care workers, particularly those who are caring for Covid-19 patients since they are most at risk. But others think that inmates should be one of the foremost to get shots of the vaccines. These people reason that prisons are close-quartered spaces and that it isn’t possible for the inmates to physically distance themselves. The third bunch believes that the elderly, who are also at high risk of Covid, should be vaccinated first.

“And that’s just a few sides of this ongoing debate,” says Dr.Tigger in an interview. “But in times like the pandemic, it’s better to start acting instead of arguing.”
