Moderna: FDA Approves Vaccine For Emergency Use
As the holiday season approaches, and as U.S. Coronavirus cases ramp up, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a second Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use, this time Moderna’s vaccine.
Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine, also a messenger RNA vaccine, should be around 95% effective, making it a highly efficient one. Other vaccines also developed to treat Covid, such as the one made by Oxford and AstraZeneca, wasn’t as efficient, with a 70% effectiveness.
“It’s still amazing how we can make such efficient vaccines in just the short period of about a year,” Dr.Tigger said in an interview this morning. “It’s even more surprising to have two approved for emergency use this quick. But I want to know one thing, why can’t China approve a vaccine? Even though there aren’t any highly effective ones that were developed here in China that I know of, we could still approve ones like Pfizer’s and Moderna’s, right?”
That has been the New News Newsminute, thank you.
