Update: UK Coronavirus Variant Spreads To U.S., France, & Sweden

With the deadly Covid-19 pandemic still raging across the world, the UK Coronavirus variant, known as “SARS-CoV-2 VOC 202012/01”, is also making its journey from country to country.

Recently, a Colorado man caught the variant. That has become the first known case of the mutant in the United States. According to Swedish officials on Saturday, Sweden has also recorded its first case of the mutant. That happened after a traveler from Great Britain for Christmas became ill and tested positive. The person is currently isolated. France is too confirming its first known case of the variant, after a man who showed no symptoms arrived in France on Dec 19th from London.

“All these sudden cases of the variant shows that it is, in truth, highly infectious,” said Dr.Tigger yesterday. “We should start developing new vaccines to treat this variant immediately so that everyone could be safe.”
