Breaking News: Rioters Storm U.S. Capitol Hill, At Least One Dead

The New News Newsminute has some breaking news, again, today. And that news is that pro-Trump protesters stormed Capitol Hill on Jan 6th, as Congress counted the Electoral College votes in joint session.

While the protesters clashed with police and made their way into the building and offices, Vice President Mike Pence, presiding over the session, was evacuated. Later, President Trump told the protesters to be “peaceful” and “go home.” But at least one was shot and killed in the incident. Congress is resuming its joint session anyway. The incident is the largest conflict on Capitol Hill since 1814 when the British burned Capitol Hill.

“It’s like a scene from a movie,” said Tigger in an interview. “So much chaos. The problem is that once it begins, it’s hard to stop. The most likely reason for this incident is that some are not so happy about the election.”

That has been the New News Newsminute, thank you.
