Your Smartwatch Could Detect Covid-19 Early, Theoretically
If you want to give your smartwatch, an Apple Watch, or whatever wearable device to a friend or something, stop what you’re doing right now because that watch could be quite useful to you.
No, do not try doing any crazy experiments with it. If your watch can continuously measure users’ heart rates, skin temperature, and other physiological behavior, then theoretically, it could detect Covid-19 before symptoms appear. That is possible because the watch has many sensors, and maybe, in the next generation of the Apple Watch and other watches, there will be this ability in them.
“Of course, things might not work out as expected,” said Tigger in an interview today. “And even though it could be possible, it would take some time to develop into an accurate testing system. So I guess that until then, we will have to go to places like hospitals to get tested for Covid-19.”
That has been the New News Newsminute, thank you.
