I’m Benjamin Franklin!

Hi there everyone, it’s me, Benjamin Franklin. You may know me as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. But did you know there’s this day known as Ben Franklin or Benjamin Franklin Day?

Anyway, let me tell you more about myself. Ben Franklin Day is today mainly because I was born on this day back in 1706 in Boston. Besides that, I was the Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

I had a bright mind full of ideas people used to say. And they weren’t joking. Somehow, in 1752, I decided to do the key and kite experiment, demonstrating that lightning was, in fact, electricity. That was also how I invented the lightning rod, which kept people safe from lightning strikes. I also helped design the first American penny. After America got its independence from England, I got elected to the Second Continental Congress. People also say that I was a great man and that I have to admit.
