Biden Inauguration: One Like And Not Like Any Other
The inauguration of a new president and vice president of the United States of America is always a big moment; It could change the path of history itself. And usually, at those history-changing moments, there will be dozens of reporters and audiences, as well as security members.
But that wasn’t the case of the 2021 Biden-Harris Inauguration, which took place on Jan 20th outside the U.S. Capitol. In order to ensure public safety, nearly 200,000 flags had gotten planted on the National Mall before the inauguration, intended to replace those who couldn’t attend it in-person. Security also tightened in Washington D.C. in the past days. Due to the risk of further violence following the storming at the Capitol on Jan 6th.
“In some ways, the Biden Inauguration was like other inaugurations before it, with Biden taking the oath of president and Harris as vice president,” said Tigger in an interview today. “But it is also very unlike other past inaugurations, with ever tight security and no crowds.”
