Trump Acquitted A Second Time
Former President Donald John Trump has just made history for being impeached in the House and acquitted in the Senate twice.
In a vote of 57 to 43, many senators found Trump guilty on the charge of “inciting an insurrection” for the Jan 6th Capitol riot. The House, requiring only a simple majority, in a Jan 13th vote impeached Trump 232 to 197 on the charge, with 10 Republicans joining all Democrats. In the Senate, seven Republicans sided with all 50 Democrats even though an additional 10 Republicans are needed to vote “guilty” to get to the two-thirds majority, 67 votes, required to convict the former president.
“That means Trump could run for office again in the future,” said Tigger in an interview today. “Though if the people would still elect him, we would have to wait and see.”
Do you want to run for office? Well, then it’s time to study up on it! That has been the New News Newsminute, thank you.
