I’m George Washington!

Hi, I’m George Washington! At least, I’m his soul since my body passed away hundreds of years ago. Anyway, today is my, or George Washington’s Birthday!

My birthday is a federal holiday in the United States and is celebrated annually on the third Monday of Feb. But you might not know so much about me, so here’s a brief recap. I was born on today’s date back in 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Fast-forward past my teenage years, and I have to note that the story of me cutting down the cherry tree is fake, to the American Revolutionary War. I lead the army against George III of England in the war for America’s independence. We won that war, mainly because England was deeply in debt due to past ones.

After that, the Founding Fathers drafted a constitution. The U.S., with me as its first president, was founded in July of 1776. The capital got named after me, now called Washington D.C. So that’s a “brief” recap. I wish you all a great year and myself a happy 289th birthday. I’d better order a cake on Amazon.
