WHO Recommend AstraZeneca Vaccinations Continue
As more vaccines are in development, the already approved ones are facing pressure to ramp up production. But some EU countries are temporarily suspending AstraZeneca’s.
That might be surprising since countries are pushing to get shots into arms. Some countries have suspended the AstraZeneca vaccine mainly because of reports of rare blood coagulation disorders in vaccinated people. But vaccination against Covid-19 will not reduce illness or deaths from other causes. These events are known to happen frequently, meaning we can’t necessarily link them to the vaccination itself. Despite that, the WHO, World Health Organization, says that rollouts should continue while carrying out a safety review. The WHO is also considering approving the Chinese Sinovac jab that is in the last clinical evaluation stage.
In an interview yesterday, Dr.Tigger also expressed concerns about the vaccine. “We should quickly find a way to minimize the disadvantages and exterminate this pandemic. It has been around for too long.” He said it is “like a giant wildfire, and we should put it out before it creates more destruction.”
That is a production of the New News Newsminute, thank you.
