Alien Life? A New Discovery In Space

July 12, 2021433 words2 min read

People have been pondering for centuries about this question: Could there be other forms of life in the universe? There have been different theories explaining that they could or may not exist. But a few days ago, a discovery has proved that alien life could be possible, and it’s not so far away.

Thanks to NASA’s Cassini spacecraft, which studied Saturn and its system, we know that methane gas is present on one of its moons, Enceladus. OK, maybe Enceladus isn’t so close after all, but at least it is in the solar system. Anyway, why is this discovery so important? Well, scientists think that it could support life forms or at least microbes. That’s because when Cassini studied the chemical makeup of giant water plumes from Enceladus, it found that there was a relatively high concentration of molecules linked to hydrothermal vents at the bottom of Earth’s oceans.

But that’s just one moon, and even though it might have the conditions for supporting life, it might just be a coincidence, with an unknown process producing the chemicals. So are there alien lifeforms at all in this universe? Well, think about it. The universe is big, right? It has about a minimum diameter of 23 trillion light-years, and the observable universe is 93 billion light-years in diameter at present. And in a universe that big and ever-expanding, there are many planets, some alike to Earth in some ways. Maybe those aliens are already trying to contact us, just that we don’t have the right equipment to receive them.

All this talking eventually leads to the conclusion that aliens might exist somewhere out there. But what if we do find other lifeforms? That’s where the speculation kinds of gets crazy, with some even thinking that maybe the aliens would reach us first, raging war. That’s not the best way to say hello. Hopefully, the lifeforms could share some of their knowledge about the universe with us, and we could cooperate. That does sound much more peaceful to me. Scientists could learn new things about the universe that they didn’t even know!

So what do you think those aliens look like if they do exist? I picture a short green guy with a big head, three eyes, and four arms! It’s just speculation, but who knows? Maybe there are other supernatural beings out there, waiting to be discovered, far beyond our comprehension. Open up your imagination, and you could dream up some crazy stuff. That’s the end of this production from the New News Newsminute. Ready for launch. 3, 2, 1, blast off! Goodbye, friends!
