Multiply & Divide Fractions

Multiply Fractions = multiply the denominator & numerator separately

Example: 7/15 * 4/3 = 7*4 / 15*3 = 28/45

Example: 3/5 * (1+ 3/4) = 3/5 * 7/4 = 21/20

Divide Fractions = ‘flip the fraction’ method

Example:

Write out the fraction: 3/4 ÷ 5/9

Flip the 2nd fraction: 3/4 * 9/5

Calculate: 27/20
