Risk Factors = ‘increases the chance that a person could get a certain disease’

Risk factors for non-communicable diseases are divided into two categories:

Lifestyle; poor lifestyle choices could result in diabetes or heart disease

Environment; air pollution coupled with smoking can raise chances of the person getting lung cancer

Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease = diet, obesity, smoking & air pollution

Results of Diseases:

On a family level, if one person gets sick, they may not be able to work, and can only rely on support, meaning their family may get poorer

On a state level, if a large percentage of the country is out sick, a substantial number of people in the workforce may be unable to work, meaning the economy drops and the country becomes less productive.

Overall, there are a lot of risk factors.
