Vaccines
What Do Vaccines Do?
They expose us to the pathogens without catching the actual disease
When our bodies are exposed to a pathogen, it creates antigens, which will create immunity when the pathogen comes again
It will be useful when the disease actually comes for real and not just as a vaccine
Pros of Vaccines:
They can protect us from diseases
Help us control common diseases
Prevent large outbreaks
Cons of Vaccines:
Vaccines don’t work 100% of the time
It doesn’t deliver full immunity
Some may develop severe allergic reactions to the vaccine, which may even turn out life-threatening
How Herd Immunity Works:
If all of those around you are immune, then one person out of the crowd is unlikely to catch the disease
