D-Day; The “End of The World” Day

June 6, 2020144 words1 min read

Starting in the spring of 1940, in the middle of World War II, Nazi Germany started occupying the northern part of France.

The Nazis were called “Nazis”, because at the end of World War I, Adolf Hitler made a group (which was not small at all), and called themselves the “Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei”, or “National Socialist German Workers' Party”, called “Nazi” for short.

Anyway, after Hitler was supported by a few German forces, he started taking down northern parts of France.

Soon, countries like UK and America were teaming up, for a battle on Normandy’s coast, lead by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, invaded the Nazis, on a day later known as D-Day.

“Lots of people think the “D” in D-Day stands for “Decision” or “Dooms”,” says Tigger, “but actually, it's just a way to mark this special day on the calendar.”
