Look, There’s A Croc!

Snap! Snap! Hi there! I'm a croc!

What’s a croc? It actually means “crocodile”. But I like being called “Croc”. We crocs live in places like Africa and America. But don't mistake us for our cousins, the Alligators. They are not so same, even though we're from the same family. For starters, Alligators have “U-shaped” snout (which are like noses), but we have snouts in the shape “V”. Then comes color, crocodiles have an olive-green/ brown colored skin, unlike Alligators, who have a blackish- gray color.

Do you know what's World Croc Day? Yes, it's all about crocs (no offense, Alligators).

It was founded by the CRC (Crocodile Research Coalition) in 2017, and was celebrated annually on June 17th, ever since. Though it's unsure why this day is celebrated today, I think there might be a connection between the year it was founded, and the date it's celebrated on.

Tigger thinks you shouldn't buy bags made from croc skin, to protect these wonderful and dangerous animals.
