Trump Signs Executive Order

Hi, and this is the New News Newshour.

3 days ago, Donald Trump, current 45th president of the US, signed a new executive order, banning police chokeholds, except if an officers life is “at-risk”.

But what exactly is an executive order? And how does it work? Today, you would find out.

For starters, an executive order is not a law, laws are made by congress, and approved by the president. On the other hand, executive orders are available to the executive branch and doesn't need Congress’ approval, but the Supreme Court could stop one if it thinks one is outside the constitution.

Anyway, this time Trump signed one because there are more and more deaths in the form of choking.

I think that we shouldn't harm other people in any way, especially if you are higher-ranked. For the New News Newshour, I’m Tigger.
