How To Keep Safe From Covid-19: How Tests Work

June 23, 2020175 words1 min read

Hi, and welcome back, I’m Dr.Tigger.

For the past few weeks, after a new outbreak at “Xinfadi”, Beijing has remained lockdown, and almost everyone (except for children) needs to go to hospitals, to be tested. So today, let me introduce you to these Coronavirus tests, and how they work.

There are two kinds of tests. One is the viral test. Viral tests test for samples from your respiratory system, to know if you have a current infection.

The other kind of test is called an antibody test. It checks for any antibodies in your blood, to determine if you had a past infection.

This is how most tests work, but I do hope that in the near future, we will find an even more reliable, and quick way, of testing Coronavirus, because sometimes, you just need results early.

Speaking of results, if you ever do go test for Coronavirus, and don't know whether or not you have it, just remember: If you were tested negative on either test, you're okay.

And until next time, bye!
