No Holes In My Roof Today

It’s the time of the dinos, and look, there’s a comet! No, it's much, much bigger. It's an asteroid! Run! But it's too late. When I say “asteroid”, do you see a piece of rock as big as the sun? Or a thing as destructive as the Death Star? Actually, asteroids are big balls of space junk, leftover from the beginning of our Solar System.

There are two major bodies of these gigantic things, the main asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt. The main belt is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, while the Kuiper belt is in the outer ranges of the Solar System.

Why talking about them, anyway? ‘Cause it's International Asteroid Day! Co-founded by Stephen Hawking, astronauts and space agencies, this day was officially announced by the UN on December 6th, 2016, in an assembly. Ever since, it has been annually celebrated on June 30th.

Tigger thinks he likes asteroids, though he doesn't want any crashing into his roof, and wiping humanity of Earth.
